All of our Dental Assistants maintain an active membership with the Ontario Dental Assistants Association.
All of our Dental Hygienists are registered with the college of Dental Hygienists of Ontario and have active memberships with either the Ontario Dental Hygienists Association or the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association.

Our clinic was designed and equipped to offer relaxing and comprehensive dentistry in a congenial and professional environment.
Originally from the Ottawa area, Dr. Karin moved to London to attend the University of Western Ontario. In 1986 she graduated from the University of Western Ontario Dental School with distinction and was the recipient of numerous awards.
For one year following graduation Dr. Karin interned throughout the three main hospitals treating medically compromised patients and increasing her surgical skills. In January 1989 Dr. Karin opened her own practice at 1086 Commissioners Rd. East. Dr. Karin believes in the value of continuouly growing and learning new skills, and she participates in many continuing education courses to keep abreast of new procedures, techniques, materials, and technologies.
She served on the executive of the London and District Dental Society from 1997-2002 and as president from 2000-2001. Dr. Karin is also an examiner for the National Dental Examining Board, and has been serving in this capacity since 1994. Karin has also served on many different dental committees at UWO in addition to local and provincial dental associations. Presently Dr. Karin is working with the "Renewal Team" at Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry to re-engineer the clinical education at the Dental School.
In the past Dr. Karin has served as a deacon, taught Sunday school for several years, and served on several committees in her church. She participated in a missions trip to the Dominican Republic, where she traded her dental drill for a Black and Decker to assist with building a church.
Karin is happily married to Ross and they have two wonderful daughters- Erin and Amber. Some of Karin's favourite past times include gardening, reading, needlepoint and spending time at the cottage.

Pam graduated from the Dental Assisting program at Seneca College in 1980. She worked as a chairside assistant for 14 years and then took a year off to work at a Radio Station in Toronto.
Moving to London, she returned to the dental field and chose to work in the administrative aspect of the dental office. In 1999 she started working with Dr. Van Ryswyk and loves the professionalism, patients, and staff she is able to work with every day.
Pam has a profound love of gardening and animals and volunteers with various animal organizations.
Melissa (Receptionist/Dental Assistant)
Melissa is a graduate of the Dental Assisting program at Canadore College in North Bay. After working in the hospitality industry for a few years, Melissa found her way to London to persue her Dental Assisting career
Mellissa came to join Dr. Karin's team in October, 2014 and is very grateful for the opportunity to work with such wonderful people. Melissa started working as a dental assistant for a maternity leave, and and has graduated to permanent full time working as receptionist and dental assistant. We are so happy to have her!
When Melissa is not working she enjoys riding her motorcycle, spending time with her pets and exploring the under water world while she scuba dives.
Jennie (Dental Hygienist)
Jennie has been working with Dr. Van Ryswyk since 2002. A graduate of Georgian College for both Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene- she has been in the profession since 1997.
Jennie works Mondays and Wednesdays with Dr Karin. Like the rest of the team - Jennie prides herself on the strong periodontal program at the office. Overall health and wellness are a genuine interest. She loves the interaction she has with a dynamic group of patients and colleagues!
Jennie brings a smile and a very positive disposition that enhances our strong team atmosphere. Jennie is married and is the proud mom of two beautiful girls.
Christine (Dental Hygienist)
Christine has been a part of Dr. VanRyswyk's dental team since August of 2003. Her studies took place in Ottawa where she obtained a bachelor's degree in Psychology.
She then redirected her field of study in 1994 to dental assisting and subsequently dental hygiene in 1997.
Growing up in Northern Ontario she became fluent in written and oral communications in both French and English.
Chris enjoys the time and care she can devote to her patients in Dr. Karin's practice. Her main interests lie in reading, swimming, and walking. We also know her as an avid theatre and movie goer.
Tanya (Dental Hygienist)
After obtaining her Dental Assisting certificate in 2007 from Springfield Technical Community College, Tanya chose to pursue a career in Dental Hygiene.
In 2009 Tanya graduated from the University of Bridgeport, CT with her Dental Hygiene Degree. Shortly after graduation Tanya moved from Connecticut to London and started a family here.
Tanya is married and the proud Mom of 2 young children. In her spare time Tanya loves travelling, cooking and baking with her family.
She has also volunteered with humanitarian aid missions in 2nd and 3rd world countries and enjoys being a friendly face to those she works with and cares for.
Cathy (Treatment Coordinator)
Cathy graduated top of her dental assisting class earning her the 1978 Dental Assisting Proficiency Award in Mississauga, ON. Cathy joined Dr. Van Ryswyk in 1989 and she has enjoyed the growth and change of a practice that strives to remain current and leading edge.
In 1992, with 14 years chair side experience, she expanded her duties upon completion of a Level II Preventive Dental Assisting program to pursue a satisfying role providing continuing care for young patients. She often surprises parents who doubt their young child's co-operation for a dental visit by making the visit positive, fun and successful.
Today you will find Cathy providing preventive care for children, taking impressions, and assisting patients in developing effective home care programs to support their oral health. She finds helping patients understand their dental treatment needs and options as rewarding as seeing them celebrate improved oral health.
From helping manage dental emergencies and treatment follow up visits, to before and after photography, Cathy credits the appreciative patients, and the variety of her position for keeping her engaged and satisfied in her role for over 23 years.
Cathy's family has lived in our Pond Mills neighbourhood for over 25 years.
Nicole (Dental Assistant)
Nicole has been a dental assistant since 2004 when she graduated from Canadore College in North Bay, (where she absolutely adored the winter!).
In 2008 Nicole joined the team at Dr. Van Ryswyks' as a Level II dental assistant. She has found her niche working with Dr. Karin and the rest of her dental family! She loves providing treatment to our amazing patients who continue to inspire her.
Nicole is the proud mama of two beautiful children, Bryson and Keagon.
Mary Lou (Dental Assistant)
Mary Lou is a Fanshawe College Graduate from the class of 1986 Dental Assisting Program. Upon graduation she joined the Ontario Dental Assistants Association and maintains her active membership status yearly.
Mary Lou has had the opportunity to work in various towns and cities in Southwestern Ontario, but has chosen to reside in London.
Mary Lou was delighted to be offered the opportunity November of 2012 to join Dr. Karin Van Ryswyk and her awesome team. She enjoys getting to know the clients, their families. Sharing with them, the knowledge required to make sound decisions about their oral healthcare needs.
In her spare time she enjoys travelling, cooking, interior decorating and Mary Kay Cosmetics.
Carly (Dental Assistant)
Carly joined Dr. Van Ryswyk's office, in May of 2013, and enjoys Dr. Van Ryswy's progressive office, and her amazing team. She did her dental assistand training at Medix school in 2010.
When visiting the office you may find Carly chairside assisting our dentists, or down the the hall seeing our littlest clients. Providing preventitive dental treatments, teaching oral hygiene basics and polishing new little teeth.
When Carly is not at the office she enjoys, any out door activity and spending time with her family.
